The Institute of Cancer Research is a college of the University of London; it began as a small research department of the Royal Marsden Hospital in 1909. Today, the Institute has established itself as one of the leading independent cancer research organisations. They have two campuses: one at Chelsea and another at Sutton. The Institute has a membership of approximately 150 full-time and part-time PhD and MD (Res) research degree and around 80 part-time taught postgraduate students. It offers the Master of Science in Oncology degree.
